Get Daily Quote is a daily quote text-message service operated by QWIKY MART LLC. Each day it sends one quotation to your phone by text, at the time you choose, with the author and the work it came from.

What we do

You choose from eight styles: Stoic, Ancient, Historic, Literary, Scientific, Wit, Resilience and Uplifting. Pick one, several, or all eight, and set your delivery time and time zone. Each day’s quote is drawn from the styles you chose. There is no app to install and no feed. It is a regular text message that stays in your messages to read again or share.

The service is secular. It draws on philosophy, literature, science, history and wit.

How quotes are checked

Every quotation is matched against the original source text before it can be sent. We record the author, the work, the year, and for translated works the translator and translation year. Nothing goes in because it sounded right or because it was widely repeated somewhere.

That matters because a great many quotations circulating online were never said by the people they are credited to. Attribution gets copied from other copies, and almost nobody checks it against a source. Our guide Before you share a quote, find its source shows the same method step by step.

The reading room

The reading room looks at individual quotations in context: who wrote them, who says them, and where to read the original passage.
